Alum priming salt for mixing in water acts as a barrier primer against penetrating discolouration and stains from old substrates. This includes, for example, water marks, discolouration from paste residues, etc.Product information Safety data sheetAlum, also known as potassium sulphate, is a salt that is easily soluble in warm water. It is used, among other things, as a haemostatic agent in shaving sticks, as a deodorant crystal or as a primer in distemper painting. The blocking effect occurs as a result of reaction processes with lime that has not yet set, low solubility in cold water and the closing of plaster capillaries. It should be noted that the faster the coating dries, the better the chances of success. As a rule, the salt cannot be used against nicotine discolouration and hardly develops its blocking properties on old plaster. It is advisable to treat lime plasters and lime paints with alum as soon as they have dried, as this improves the blocking effect. It is not recommended to apply a thick layer of plaster over the primed surfaces, as the drying time may be too long and the moisture could dissolve the alum and the embedded colourants again. In contrast to comparable products, the advantage of alum is that it only has a minor effect on the vapour absorption of the surface. The success of the application cannot be guaranteed. However, the likelihood of success is so high that it is worth a try and depends directly on professional application. Further information can be found in the product information and in the safety data sheet.PropertiesSalt for mixing with waterWaterproofingVapour permeablesolvent- and emission-free, odourlessAbsorbency-reducingHardeningacidic, pH 3-3.5 at 10% solutionslightly disinfectingveganFull declaration100 % potassium aluminium sulphate x 12 H2OMixing the primerDissolve the priming salt in warm water while stirring (duration: approx. 5 min.). The Kreidezeit casein primer has a wide range of applications. This colourless, transparent primer can be used for subsequent coats and Kreidezeit lime paints, plasters and casein paints indoors.Product information Safety data sheetThe great advantage of this primer is that it has no reducing effect on the vapour absorption of plasters (sD value < 0.01 m), making it ideal for clay and lime plasters. The product reduces unwanted highly absorbent substrates and equalises different absorbencies of the substrate.Areas of applicationSuitable for use on all untreated and absorbent substrates such as clay, lime, lime-cement and gypsum plasters, gypsum plasterboard and gypsum fibreboards, stone and concrete. Recommended for priming absorbent old coatings before renovation: e.g. KREIDEZEIT casein paints, clay paints, limewash paints and emulsion paints. Unsuitable for all smooth, non-absorbent surfaces and permanently damp substrates. For transparent consolidation of plasters, especially clay plasters indoors; it is necessary to create test areas here. The further use of the product within the paint and plaster systems is described in the corresponding product information.Product propertiesPowder for mixing with waterReduces the absorbency of highly absorbent substrates and equalises different absorbencies of the substrateStrengthens slightly sanding substratesVery good penetration capacityColourless, transparentEasy to applyVery economicalhighly diffusiblefree from preservativesColour residues are compostableFull declarationCasein, sodaMixing the casein primerA 10 litre bucket and a mixer (drill + whisk) are best suited for mixing the casein primer. Leave to cool for at least 30 minutes. Thoroughly wash out oil-soiled brushes and rollers with the soap solution.Dried, oil-stained tools can usually be cleaned by briefly boiling them in the soap solution.Soaping floorsIn some areas of Germany, it is customary to protect softwood floors and tables against soiling by simply "soaping" them. The light-coloured wood character is initially retained as far as possible. Over the years, a beautiful patina usually develops.Dissolve approx. 20 g of Marseille soap in 1 litre of boiling water. Apply the warm soap solution to the untreated wooden floor with a suitable brush, work in with a scrubbing brush and leave to dry. If necessary, repeat the process until the desired result is achieved or until the surface is covered with a wafer-thin film of soap. The soap application should be repeated from time to time, depending on wear, to ensure sufficient protection for the wood.Caution: Woods containing tannins, e.g. oak, can become very dark in colour. It is strongly recommended that test areas are created to assess the result before working on large areas.

Afterwards, the following products should be used as soon as possible: Mould Cracker encapsulates spores, binds them permanently and thus protects against their further spread. At the same time, the surface becomes highly alkaline, which prevents new growth. The mould cracker is not colourfast and should be painted over with marsh lime paint if necessary. It adheres to almost any surface and is also suitable, for example, for restoring infested back walls of cupboards. Effective for many months. Lime works best against fungi due to its long-lasting alkalinity. Lime paints are our tried and tested products for the permanent removal and colour masking of mould. A double coat is usually sufficient to prevent mould from returning. Our recommendations relate to mould infestation of max. 5 m². In the case of massive infestation of entire rooms or even buildings, a specialist should be called in. If in doubt, you can discuss your concerns with our technical advisors. In contrast to the ochres, terra di siena contains a certain amount of silicates.Umber greenish darkMixture of green mineral pigments (spinel green, spinel blue chrome oxide green) and marble powder.Iron oxide pigments (yellow, orange, red, brown, black)Pure synthetic rust, produced by precipitation reactions from aqueous iron sulphate solution. Very fine particles and extremely strong colours. The yellow and orange colours are iron(III) oxides with varying water of crystallisation content. Iron oxide brown contains additional inclusions of iron(II) oxide. The red iron oxides are formed by loss of water when the yellow iron oxide is heated to temperatures of 180°C to over 800°C. Black is a magnetic mixed oxide of iron(II) and iron(III) oxides, known in its natural form as magnetite. The red iron oxide pigments in particular can become cloudy / streaky in lime paints. However, experience has shown that they work very well in plasters and levelling compounds.UmbrenNatural earth pigments, the colouring components are iron hydrates with manganese oxide hydrates and alumina desilicates. Due to the manganese content, umbers have a drying-accelerating effect in oil colours. Umbers occur in different colour shades, depending on the iron oxide, manganese oxide and silicate content.Ultramarine (blue, violet)Artificial mineral pigments produced by heating soda, clay and sulphur. The ultramarine colours are exposed to different firing temperatures during production. Ultramarine violet is a mixture of ultramarine blue and red. They are considered lime-resistant, but lime products tinted with ultramarines must be processed within 24 hours. They are lightfast and weather-resistant, but not acid-resistant.As our atmosphere today is slightly acidic, ultramarine blue can only be used to a limited extent outdoors (can lead to black discolouration or even discolouration).Spinel pigmentsSpinel is a mineral from the oxide class of minerals that is rather rare in nature. The chemical name for spinel is magnesium aluminate; in its pure form it is colourless. Due to regionally varying additions of iron, chromium, zinc, cobalt or manganese, spinels come in a wide variety of colours. However, these are of a relatively pale, weak colour.Spinel pigments are so-called mixed-phase pigments and are technically produced by adding metal salts (cobalt, antimony, nickel, chromium, titanium) to natural ground spinels and exposing them to temperatures of 1200 to 1600°C in an oven, whereby an ion exchange takes place and the material is enriched to saturation with the metals used. This produces very strong colours. The metals are so firmly incorporated into the mineral structure that they are no longer bioavailable, i.e. they do not dissolve in the human body, during composting or in normal fires. Spinel blue / spinel turquoise / spinel mint: Cobalt chromium aluminate Co(Al,Cr)2O4 Spinel green: Cobalt titanate (Co,Ni,Zn)(Ti,Al)2O4 Spinel yellow: Nickel antimony titanate rutile (Ti,Ni,Sb)O2 Spinel orange: Chromium antimony titanate rutile (Ti,Cr,Sb)O2 Sun yellow is a mixture of spinel yellow and spinel orangeFor tinting our aqueous wall paints, wall glazes, plasters and waxes: first mix the pigments with a little water to form a lump-free slurry and then add to the desired product. Kreidezeit Swamp Lime Paint can be used for intermediate and finishing coats indoors and should only be used as an intermediate coat outdoors. Thanks to its excellent diffusion properties, long-lasting alkalinity and a surface that prevents condensation, Kreidezeit Limewash Paint is ideal for painting in damp rooms.Processing video lime paints Product information brochureThe lime paint with a fine coating plaster character (grain size 0.5 mm) is characterised by the fact that slightly altered differences in the structure of the surface are smoothed out, whereby fine cracks can be filled in. It maintains the surface structure of finely roughened plasters. Kreidezeit marble lime paint produces a high degree of whiteness as well as enormous binding and adhesion properties thanks to the use of finely dispersed marble lime. The lime paint does not require the addition of synthetic resin binders or synthetic pigments such as titanium white. In this case, work quickly "wet-on-wet" in a crosswise motion and then roll the surface in one direction. The application of the colour with the roller should be tested on test surfaces.Do not roll tinted swamp lime paint! Application by airless spraying is possible. DilutionDepending on requirements, use the paint undiluted or diluted with 5 - 10 % water. Dilute the paint so that it is easy to apply.Drying timeApprox. 8 hours at temperatures around 20 °C and a humidity of 65 %. Low temperatures extend the drying time.Protect exterior coats from sun and rain during the first few days and, if necessary, mist lightly with water repeatedly (water must not run down the surfaces).Suitable toolsGood medium-pile paint rollers (polyamide) and brushes. Airless spraying equipment (min. 200 bar nozzle pressure).Cleaning the toolsImmediately after use with water. The colour effect of the lime wall paints, which are based on traditional formulas, differs from the widely used synthetic dispersion paints due to the natural ingredients used (above all due to the absence of titanium white). The surfaces appear more vivid. The colour effect varies depending on the lighting conditions. A slightly cloudy character may result. Application with a brush emphasises this character. We therefore recommend applying the colour with a brush. However, in some cases, e.g. when painting woodchip, it is more practical to use paint rollers. Tinted swamp lime paint should never be painted with paint rollers.

Vega primer, container size 250 g Range 40 - 60 m² Consumption per m² 20 g Exact consumption to be determined on the object Product information Safety data sheetKreidezeit Vega Primer is a colourless, transparent primer that is used for subsequent coats of paint and thin-layer plaster applications indoors. It offers a wide range of application options. Kreidezeit Vega Primer is particularly suitable for priming clay and lime plasters, as it has no reducing effect on the vapour absorption of plasters (sD value < 0.01m).It can be used on all untreated and absorbent surfaces such as clay, lime, lime-cement and gypsum plasters, gypsum plasterboard and gypsum fibreboards, stone and concrete, but is unsuitable for all smooth, non-absorbent surfaces and permanently damp substrates.Recommended for priming absorbent old coatings before renovation: e.g. KREIDEZEIT casein paints, clay paints, limewash paints and emulsion paints. For transparent consolidation of plasters, especially clay plasters in interior areas; here it is necessary to create test areas (see "Tips").The use of Vega primer within the various KREIDEZEIT paint and plaster systems is described in the corresponding product information.PropertiesPowder for mixing with waterReduces the absorbency of highly absorbent substrates and equalises different absorbencies of the substrateStrengthens slightly sanding substratesVery good penetration capacityColourless transparentEasy to applyVery economicalhighly diffusiblefree from preservativescolour residues are compostableveganFull declaration: vegetable casein, soda Mixing the primerA 10 litre bucket and a mixer (drill + whisk) are best suited for mixing the primer.Add the contents of the bag of Vega primer (250 g) to 2 litres of clean, cold water, stirring constantly. Kreidezeit Vega wall paint is a vegan, excellent covering and easy-to-use paint for interior walls and ceilings. It can be used on all load-bearing and absorbent plasters (clay, lime, gypsum, cement), fillers, woodchip, pure paper wallpaper, paper fleece, plasterboard, gypsum fibre boards and concrete.Product information Safety data sheetThe vegetable casein (vegetable protein) in combination with the soda acts as a binding agent. The soda is added to produce a protein glue. The production of Kreidezeit Vega wall paint offers several advantages, as transport costs and packaging waste are reduced and storage is extended without chemical preservation. The colour is characterised by a pleasant light white tone, which results from the use of Italian marble flours and does not require the addition of any other optical brighteners such as titanium white. It is also ideal for use on firmly adhering, matt and absorbent emulsion paints after test areas have been created with positive results. For damp rooms, we recommend KREIDEZEIT Swamp Lime Paint.Properties Powder for mixing with watereasy to applyLow odour highly diffusible, antistaticexcellent covering power naturally white due to fine marble flours without titanium white Smudge-proof and can be painted over several times all ingredients are of natural origin free from preservatives free from synthetic resin binders vegan Full declaration Marble flours of various grain sizes, chalk, vegetable casein, china clay, soda, methyl cellulose7PrimerPre-coat all plasters, levelling compounds, filled drywall panels, concrete and old emulsion paints with Vega primer or casein primer and allow to dry completely. Recommended from the KREIDEZEIT range: Facade paint brush, lime paint brush, professional paint rollers. Cleaning the tools Immediately after use with water.TipsApply the product within 24 hours. Small quantities of mixed paint can be frozen for repair purposes.Painting over old emulsion paintsThe old paint must be firmly attached, matt and slightly absorbent. For better adhesion to the substrate, we recommend adding 30 ml of safflower oil (low-yellowing) to 1 kg of paint powder used. The oil is added to the Vega Wall Paint after swelling, stirring vigorously. Dirty emulsion paint coats must be cleaned before applying the Vega Wall Paint, e.g. with caustic soda. e.g. with soda lye. In these cases, the suitability of the paint should generally be tested on site by creating a test surface.

The Kreidezeit window care set protects wooden windows that have been treated with Kreidezeit stand oil paints or coloured wood stains from weakening the colour intensity and then protects them. Furthermore, soiled paintwork can be cleaned with the enclosed care soap. The set contains 100ml care soap and 100ml care oil as well as 1 set of instructions. Product informationThe window care set offers excellent protection against coloured renovation coats for comparatively little effort, as long-term and regular maintenance is required to maintain the function-protecting surface and appearance, which is shortened with the Kreidezeit window care set. Full declarationMaintenance soap: Olive oil soap. Maintenance oil: linseed oil, linseed oil stand oil, wood oil stand oil, manganese drierInspectionCheck painted surfaces at least every six months for soiling and damage (visual inspection) and clean and maintain as required . The gloss behaviour of the painted surfaces should be assessed during the inspection and cleaning at least every six months. Areas that have lost their lustre must be treated immediately with Kreidezeit window care oil. Areas that still have sufficient gloss should not be treated, as too frequent care on surfaces that are still glossy can lead to a greasy appearance and a sticky surface. Kreidezeit stand oil paints and wood stains are environmentally friendly and therefore deliberately not treated with fungicides. Even with fungicide-treated conventional wood coating systems, condensation-induced fungal growth on the surface is a known phenomenon (shadow formation, blackening). It is therefore important to check the surfaces for fungal infestation (usually small black spots) at least every six months and to remove this immediately with water and Kreidezeit care soap. The condition of the painted weatherboards should be checked every six months because they are most exposed to the weather. Cleaning Do not clean the wooden windows immediately after installation. Paint and silicone need approx. 4 weeks to cure completely. Clean the metal rain protection rail after the construction period. The water drainage slots must not be blocked. Clean dirt with a soft sponge and cleaning soap (1 tablespoon of soap diluted in 1 litre of water). Heavy soiling can also be treated with a more concentrated soap. Care and protection As a rule, care is required once a year on sunny and weathered sides and every 2 years on sides facing away from the weather. These intervals can vary considerably depending on the weather conditions and exposure of the surfaces. In principle, however, there are no defined maintenance intervals for the Kreidezeit Stand Oil Paint or Wood Stain System. Allow the cleaned surfaces to dry completely. The areas that have lost their lustre, especially on the sides exposed to the sun and weather, should be rubbed very thinly with a cloth soaked in maintenance oil. After 10 - 15 minutes, rub with a dry cloth and remove excess oil (excess oil that is not removed can be very shiny and sticky!) The colour intensity will return. Processing and drying temperature at least 10°C for at least 48 hours. Renovation Renovation is necessary at the latest when exterior stand oil paints are heavily weathered, chalk intensively or the wood surface becomes visible, or when the pigments in wood stains have been washed off by rain. The surfaces are cleaned with maintenance soap and areas that are still shiny are lightly sanded (grain size P 120-150).Renovation coats on Kreidezeit wood stain are carried out with wood stain for interior/exterior tinted with Kreidezeit pigments up to 175 g pigment per 1 litre of wood stain or coloured wood stain. Renovation coats on Kreidezeit stand oil paints are carried out with stand oil paint - full-fat. The weatherboards on windows should be repainted on the sunny sides every 2 years at the latest.

Kreidezeit wood stain offers the possibility of protecting exterior and interior surfaces from UV radiation, greying and weather conditions with little effort. It is a diffusible and biocide-free protective coating that can be used on a variety of wooden surfaces. These can be, for example, windows, doors, wooden facades, timber framing, play equipment, carports, etc. The advantage of Kreidezeit wood stain over other commercially available products of this type is that it does not flake, crack or burst, but gradually weathers over time. The effort involved in renewing it remains comparatively low thanks to simple cleaning and repainting. In exterior areas, lightfast pigments must be added to the wood stain to aesthetically emphasise the natural wood grain. In contrast, the wood stain can be applied colourless indoors.Kreidezeit wood stain is unsuitable for floors, rough sawn wood, old synthetic resin-based coats and for exterior use on horizontal surfaces.
