Kreidezeit swamp lime paint for interior and exterior use is based on tried and tested formulas. The fundamental difference in the colour appearance is the use of natural ingredients from the widely used synthetic dispersion paints; above all, without the addition of synthetic resin binders and synthetic pigments such as titanium white. The product has excellent diffusion properties, long-lasting alkalinity and a surface that prevents condensation and can therefore be used in damp rooms in particular.
The resulting colour effect appears more vivid, but can be altered by different incidence of light. The result is a slightly cloudy character, which can be emphasised by using a brush. However, in some cases, e.g. when painting woodchip wallpaper, the use of paint rollers is more practical. However, tinted swamp lime paint should never be painted with paint rollers.
Kreidezeit marble lime paint is suitable for interior and exterior use and produces a high degree of whiteness as well as enormous binding and adhesion properties thanks to the use of finely dispersed marble lime.
Generally opaque in 2 coats. In exterior areas, 3 coats extend the durability.

Suitable interior substrates
Untreated mineral plasters, concrete, stone, masonry, plasterboard, gypsum fibre boards, paper fleece, all KREIDEZEIT wall paints and plasters (except distemper), matt and absorbent synthetic resin dispersion paints (after creating test areas with positive results).
Suitable exterior substrates
Untreated mineral, weather-resistant plasters, concrete, stone. Do not use on external thermal insulation composite systems.
Primer
Pre-coat all plasters, levelling compounds, filled drywall panels, concrete and old emulsion paints with Vega Primer or Casein Primer and allow to dry completely. Do not prime paper fleece/paper wallpaper.
Application
The recommended method of application is brushing with a brush in a crosswise stroke.
White swamp lime paint can also be rolled onto low-absorbent substrates. In this case, work quickly "wet-on-wet" in a crosswise motion and then roll the surface in one direction. The application of the colour with the roller should be tested on test surfaces.
Do not roll tinted swamp lime paint! Application by airless spraying is possible.
Dilution
Depending on requirements, use the paint undiluted or diluted with 5 - 10 % water. Dilute the paint so that it is easy to apply.
Waterproofing of façade surfaces
For façade surfaces, we recommend hydrophobisation with 2% KREIDEZEIT Corfu Soap. Dissolve the soap in a ratio of 20 g soap flakes to 1 litre of water. Do not use a higher concentration! For an optimum water-repellent effect, apply the soap solution to the dried lime coating as soon as possible, after 24 hours at the latest. Apply thinly and evenly from bottom to top. Do not roll! Application can be repeated after drying. A clouding typical of lime soap may occur on tinted lime paints (if necessary, create a test area beforehand).
Drying time
Approx. 8 hours at temperatures around 20 °C and a humidity of 65 %. Low temperatures extend the drying time.
Protect exterior coats from sun and rain during the first few days and, if necessary, mist lightly with water repeatedly (water must not run down the surfaces).
Suitable tools
Good medium pile paint rollers (polyamide) and brushes. Airless spraying equipment (min. 200 bar nozzle pressure).

Cleaning the tools
