Kreidezeit Vega wall paint is a vegan, excellent covering and easy-to-use paint for interior walls and ceilings. It can be used on all load-bearing and absorbent plasters (clay, lime, gypsum, cement), fillers, woodchip, pure paper wallpaper, paper fleece, plasterboard, gypsum fibre boards and concrete.
The vegetable casein (vegetable protein) in combination with the soda acts as a binding agent. The soda is added to produce a protein glue. The production of Kreidezeit Vega wall paint offers several advantages, as transport costs and packaging waste are reduced and storage is extended without chemical preservation.
The colour is characterised by a pleasant light white tone, which results from the use of Italian marble flours and does not require the addition of any other optical brighteners such as titanium white.
It is also ideal for use on firmly adhering, matt and absorbent emulsion paints after test areas have been created with positive results.
For damp rooms, we recommend KREIDEZEIT Swamp Lime Paint.

Primer
Pre-coat all plasters, levelling compounds, filled drywall panels, concrete and old emulsion paints with Vega primer or casein primer and allow to dry completely. Do not prime paper fleece/paper wallpaper.
Mixing the paint
Stir the powder into the specified amount of clean, cold water until the mixture is lump-free. Use a powerful drill with a whisk. Leave to swell for at least 30 minutes and stir well again before use.
Water requirement/dilution
The colour must be adjusted with water to a spreadability suitable for the substrate; it may need to be thinned further for this purpose.
Rolling: Mix 1 kg of colour powder with 650 ml of water, dilute further with max. 100 ml of water as required.
Brushing: Mix 1 kg of colour powder with 750 ml of water, dilute further with max. 100 ml of water as required.
Application
Processing temperature min. 8°C. Stir occasionally during application. 2 coats are generally required for full coverage. Do not attempt to cover dark and high-contrast substrates with one coat; excessive application thicknesses can lead to paint damage! Allow previous coats to dry completely before painting over them. The colour is translucent during application and only reaches its full opacity after drying.
Mix 1 kg of colour powderwith 650 ml of water and dilute with up to 150 ml if necessary. Spread evenly in a criss-cross pattern using a facade brush.
Rolling Mix 1 kg of colour powder with 550 ml of water, dilute with up to 150 ml if necessary. First apply a thick, even coat in a criss-cross pattern, then immediately roll in one direction without applying any more material.
The mixed colour must be used on the same day. Do not continue to use bad or foul-smelling paint under any circumstances: Danger of long-lasting odour problems even after drying!
Drying time in a normal climate
Can be painted over after approx. 8 hours. Suitable tools Good medium pile paint rollers (polyamide) and paint brushes. Recommended from the KREIDEZEIT range: Facade paint brush, lime paint brush, professional paint rollers.
Cleaning the tools
Immediately after use with water.
Tips
- Apply the product within 24 hours. Small quantities of mixed paint can be frozen for repair purposes.
Painting over old emulsion paints
The old paint must be firmly attached, matt and slightly absorbent. For better adhesion to the substrate, we recommend adding 30 ml of safflower oil (low-yellowing) to 1 kg of paint powder used. The oil is added to the Vega Wall Paint after swelling, stirring vigorously. Dirty emulsion paint coats must be cleaned before applying the Vega Wall Paint, e.g. with caustic soda. e.g. with soda lye. In these cases, the suitability of the paint should generally be tested on site by creating a test surface.
