Ampacoll Airmax Sprühprimer (500 ml) – Dauerklebrige Haftgrundierung für poröse Untergründe
Ampacoll Airmax Spray Primer (500 ml) – Permanent-bonding primer for porous substratesAmpacoll Airmax Spray Primer is a high-performance, solvent-based adhesive primer made from synthetic rubber. It has been specially developed to ensure the adhesion of ampacoll adhesive tapes to porous or rough substrates. The practical spray application allows work to progress significantly faster than with conventional brush-on primers. Furthermore, the product is ideal for use in challenging site conditions such as cold or damp environments.Product features and benefitsTime-saving: Easy to spray and therefore much quicker to apply than with a brush.Optimised handling: Overhead and vertical work can be carried out much more easily thanks to the spray system (ideally use a fresh can for overhead applications).Flexible spray head: The spray volume can be adjusted to three settings (Low, Medium, High) by turning the spray head. Furthermore, the spray pattern can be precisely directed by turning the small black nozzle.Permanently tacky & fast-drying: Short flash-off time; once dry, the primer remains permanently tacky for optimum adhesive tape adhesion.Versatile: Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.ApplicationsServes as a bonding primer for ampacoll adhesive tapes on porous or rough substrates such as:BrickworkPlaster and concreteRaw timberSoftwood fibreboardsetc.Form of supplyProduct name: Ampacoll Airmax Spray PrimerTin size: 500 mlTechnical dataBase material: synthetic rubber, solvent-basedCoverage: 30–70 linear metres at 60 mm width (depending on the absorbency of the substrate)Drying time (flash-off time): approx. 10 mins (+20 °C) / approx. 30 mins (0 °C) / approx. 40 mins (-5 °C)Application temperature (product & substrate): -5 °C to +35 °CSolvent: YesStorage: unopened at +5 °C to +25 °C (frost-free). Protect from direct sunlight.Application instructions1. Preparation The substrate, joints and materials to be bonded must be clean, dry and free from dust and grease. Cement residue and concrete debris must be removed beforehand. Cover plastics and sensitive surfaces before spraying to protect them.2. Application and drying Apply the primer evenly across the width of the adhesive tape being used. Absorbent substrates should be sprayed slowly and thoroughly in a single pass. Protect the sprayed surfaces from dust and moisture whilst they are drying. Depending on the temperature and substrate, the primer dries in 10 to 40 minutes (this time may be extended in damp conditions or at low temperatures). Important: The primer remains tacky. It is considered completely dry when fingerprints are no longer visible or are only very faintly visible.3. Cleaning and maintenance of the spray nozzle Remove any splashes immediately. Wipe the spray nozzle with a cloth whenever you take a break from work. To prevent blockages, regularly spray a very small amount of primer directly onto a cloth and use it to wipe the spray nozzle clean.Important notes on material compatibility: Ampacoll Airmax spray primer is not compatible with paint. The product may dissolve paints, varnishes and plastics. You should therefore always check compatibility with adjacent materials beforehand. Please refer to the safety data sheet for further information.Data sheet and application tips Safety data sheet

Substrate preparation The substrate or surface must be sound, clean, dry and free from dust and grease.2. Applying the adhesive Apply a continuous bead 8 to 10 mm thick to the substrate. Any depressions in the substrate should be levelled out immediately by adding an appropriate amount of material.3. Attaching the vapour control layer Attach the vapour control layers or vapour blocks to the bead of adhesive without creating any gaps and applying only light pressure. Take care not to press the bead completely flat. A short flash-off time before pressing it down improves initial adhesion. The full curing time is 2 to 3 days.4. Important note on edge battens Where installation is completely free of tension and load, the use of this adhesive technology is theoretically possible even without additional edge battens. However, based on practical experience and recommendations in the relevant standards, a mechanical fix (edge batten) should not be omitted for safety reasons. Furthermore, in most cases, edge battens serve to support the room-side cladding anyway.

If necessary, clean the areas thoroughly before application.1. Bonding overlaps and joints Simply tear the tape by hand to the required length. Use the printed positioning line to place the adhesive tape exactly in the centre over the joint or seam. Then rub the tape down firmly to maximise adhesion to the substrate.2. Bonding around penetrations For penetrations such as rafters, ventilation pipes or beam ends, cut the tape into small pieces, apply them in an overlapping pattern to the penetration and rub them down firmly. Important: Do not stretch the tape when applying it to penetrations! This is the only way to ensure that the stretchable backing can safely accommodate subsequent, natural movement of the building components without cracking.
