Product information "Kreidezeit garden furniture oil"
Kreidezeit garden furniture oil is made from natural and renewable raw materials and is an initial treatment for new garden furniture and can also be used as maintenance care and to refresh already oiled wood. The biocide-free Kreidezeit Garden Furniture Oil is dirt and water repellent, has excellent penetration properties and a high diffusion capacity.
The garden furniture oil is colourless. It penetrates deep into the wood, refreshes the colour impression and accentuates the wood grain.
If required, pigments can be added to the garden furniture oil to protect untreated wood from greying and to restore greyed wood to its previous colour.
Not suitable for treating varnished surfaces.

Processing
Shake the product briefly before use. KREIDEZEIT Garden Furniture Oil is applied twice to untreated wood with intermediate drying. Intermediate sanding may be necessary before the second application.
Mix containers of different batch numbers together before use. The product must not be poured onto surfaces!
Clean and remove dust from untreated surfaces.
KREIDEZEIT Garden Furniture Oil is ready to use and is applied undiluted. Please note: Garden furniture should be fitted with stainless steel screws and fittings, otherwise dark discolouration may occur when oil is applied.
1. basic sanding
Sand new and weathered wood (grit P 80 - 100), round the edges. Do not sand any finer as the wood would otherwise be compacted and would not be able to absorb enough oil. New, smooth, planed or finely pre-sanded wood is better "opened up" by sanding. Remove dust thoroughly after sanding.
2. first coat
Apply KREIDEZEIT Garden Furniture Oil evenly with a brush, cloth or sponge. After 10 - 20 minutes, rub the entire treated surface thoroughly with a dry, lint-free cloth until the surface has a uniform silky matt appearance. When rubbing, ensure that any oil that has not been absorbed is completely removed, as otherwise shiny or sticky areas may remain.
KREIDEZEIT Garden Furniture Oil must penetrate the wood completely and must not form a layer on the wood.
3. intermediate sanding (optional)
Intermediate sanding is only necessary if the surface has dried rough after the first coat, e.g. due to raised wood fibres. Intermediate sanding with sandpaper (grain size P 100 - 120) in the direction of the fibres. Remove dust thoroughly after sanding.
4. second coat
Repeat the application of the first coat.
Drying time
Dry and recoatable at 20 °C and 60 % relative humidity after approx. 24 hours (or 48 hours on substrates containing tannin, oak, etc.).
Suitable tools
Paint brushes, solvent-compatible sponges, cotton cloths
Cleaning the tools
Immediately after use, wash with balsamic turpentine oil and then with Olive Care Soap or Corfu Soap.
