Kreidezeit clay paint is an excellent covering wall and ceiling paint that gives surfaces a unique and soft flair.
Consumption and coverage
On a smooth surface, the consumption is around 125g powder / m2. The following ranges are available with the various container sizes:
- 2 kg - 16m2
- 7.5 kg - 60m2
- 20 kg - 160m2

Kreidezeit clay paint is low-odour and free from preservatives and synthetic resins. It can be used very easily for interior paintwork. The clay paint can be applied to all load-bearing and absorbent plasters (clay, lime, gypsum, cement), fillers, woodchip, pure paper wallpaper, paper fleece, plasterboard, gypsum fibre boards and concrete.
The colour consists of natural white clay and light-coloured marble powder, which creates a surface that looks very much like real clay and has a matt and calming effect.
If desired, the clay colour can be tinted using Kreidezeit pigments, allowing for individual designs!
Also suitable on firmly adhering, matt and absorbent emulsion paints after test areas have been created with positive results.
For damp rooms, we recommend KREIDEZEIT Swamp Lime Paint.

Primer
Pre-coat all plasters, levelling compounds, filled drywall, concrete and old emulsion paints with Vega primer or casein primer and allow to dry completely. Do not prime paper fleece/paper wallpaper.
Mixing the paint
Stir 1.00 - 1.10 litres of water per kg of powder into the specified amount of clean, cold water until the mixture is lump-free. Use a powerful drill with a whisk. Leave to swell for at least 30 minutes and stir well again before use.
Application
Processing temperature at least 8°C. Stir occasionally during application.
As a rule, 2 coats are required for full coverage. Do not attempt to cover dark and high-contrast substrates with one coat; excessive application thicknesses can lead to paint damage! Allow previous coats to dry out completely before overcoating. Clay paint is translucent during application; it only reaches its full opacity after drying.
Brushing Spread evenly in a crosswise motion using a facade brush.
Rolling First apply generously and evenly in a criss-cross pattern, then immediately roll in one direction without applying any more material.
