Kreidezeit Swamp Lime Paint can be used for intermediate and finishing coats indoors and should only be used as an intermediate coat outdoors. Thanks to its excellent diffusion properties, long-lasting alkalinity and a surface that prevents condensation, Kreidezeit Limewash Paint is ideal for painting in damp rooms.
The lime paint with a fine coating plaster character (grain size 0.5 mm) is characterised by the fact that slightly altered differences in the structure of the surface are smoothed out, whereby fine cracks can be filled in. It maintains the surface structure of finely roughened plasters.
Kreidezeit marble lime paint produces a high degree of whiteness as well as enormous binding and adhesion properties thanks to the use of finely dispersed marble lime. The lime paint does not require the addition of synthetic resin binders or synthetic pigments such as titanium white.
Generally opaque in 2 coats.

Suitable interior substrates
Untreated mineral plasters, concrete, stone, masonry, plasterboard, gypsum fibre boards, paper fleece, all KREIDEZEIT wall paints and plasters (except distemper), matt and absorbent synthetic resin dispersion paints (after creating test areas with positive results).
Suitable exterior substrates
Untreated mineral, weather-resistant plasters, concrete, stone. Do not use on external thermal insulation composite systems.
Primer
Pre-coat all plasters, levelling compounds, filled drywall panels, concrete and old emulsion paints with Vega Primer or Casein Primer and allow to dry completely. Do not prime paper fleece/paper wallpaper.
Application
The recommended method of application is brushing with a brush in a crosswise stroke.
White swamp lime paint can also be rolled onto low-absorbent substrates. In this case, work quickly "wet-on-wet" in a crosswise motion and then roll the surface in one direction. The application of the colour with the roller should be tested on test surfaces.
Do not roll tinted swamp lime paint! Application by airless spraying is possible.
Dilution
Depending on requirements, use the paint undiluted or diluted with 5 - 10 % water. Dilute the paint so that it is easy to apply.
Drying time
Approx. 8 hours at temperatures around 20 °C and a humidity of 65 %. Low temperatures extend the drying time.
Protect exterior coats from sun and rain during the first few days and, if necessary, mist lightly with water repeatedly (water must not run down the surfaces).
Suitable tools
Good medium-pile paint rollers (polyamide) and brushes. Airless spraying equipment (min. 200 bar nozzle pressure).
Cleaning the tools
Immediately after use with water.
The colour effect of the lime wall paints, which are based on traditional formulas, differs from the widely used synthetic dispersion paints due to the natural ingredients used (above all due to the absence of titanium white). The surfaces appear more vivid. The colour effect varies depending on the lighting conditions. A slightly cloudy character may result. Application with a brush emphasises this character. We therefore recommend applying the colour with a brush. However, in some cases, e.g. when painting woodchip, it is more practical to use paint rollers. Tinted swamp lime paint should never be painted with paint rollers.
