Product information "Kreidezeit Stand Oil Paint, intermediate coat, semi-greasy "
Kreidezeit Stand Oil Paint is a coloured, highly opaque and weather-resistant protective coating for interior and especially exterior wood that can be purchased ready to use.
The advantages of the resin- and biocide-free stand oil paint are, on the one hand, that it does not burst, flake or crack, but weathers slowly on the surface and can therefore be easily maintained by cleaning and repainting. On the other hand, the diffusible Kreidezeit Stand Oil Paint impresses with its high opacity. It can be used for a wide range of applications: e.g. windows, doors, wooden facades, timber framing, play equipment, fences, carports, beehives and can also be used to treat steel and zinc.
Only absolutely lightfast and weather-resistant earth and mineral pigments are used for pigmentation. The paint can be purchased in 14 different colour variants and in silver or gold, which can be mixed with each other. Many special colours are also available on request.
The stand oil colour can be applied after a three-coat application from "lean to bold" as follows:
1. priming oil, base coat with excellent penetration.
2. stand oil colour - semi-fat, silky matt to silky gloss coat with good filling effect. For intermediate and top coats.
3. stand oil colour - full fat, glossy top coat.
For surfaces with less gloss, Stand Oil Paint - Semi-Greasy - can alternatively be painted twice indoors and outdoors. Old oil paints and alkyd resin coatings can be painted over, but without guarantee. Unsuitable for floors, ovens, radiators and pipes, on rough-sawn wood, old synthetic resin-based paints and outdoors on horizontal surfaces.

Surface preparation / basic sanding
Completely remove resin pockets, repeatedly damaged old coats as well as old acrylic-based coats and primers or coats of uncertain composition. For exterior use: soak absorbent cut edges and end grain areas with KREIDEZEIT resin oil and allow to dry for at least 24 hours.
Sand new and weathered wood as well as rough sawn wood (grit P 80 - 100), round the edges. Do not sand finer as the wood would otherwise be compacted and could not absorb enough oil. It is better to "open up" new, smooth, planed or finely pre-sanded wood by sanding. Sand shiny old oil or alkyd resin-based coats (grit size P 80 - 100). Remove dust thoroughly after sanding.
Application
Application and drying temperature at least 10 °C for at least 48 hours.
Stir the product thoroughly before use. Remove any oxidised skin caused by storage beforehand and do not stir in. Stir containers of different batch numbers together before processing. The product must not be poured onto surfaces!
Clean and remove dust from untreated surfaces.
Spread or roll the product thinly and evenly. Avoid or spread overlaps. Brush out any paint that has run together from corners with a smooth brush. Always apply subsequent coats only after the previous coat has completely dried.
Intermediate sanding
After priming or applying an intermediate coat, intermediate sanding may be necessary if the surface is rough or has dried too glossy, e.g. due to raised wood fibres. Intermediate sanding with sandpaper (grain size P 150 - 180) in the direction of the fibres. Remove dust thoroughly after sanding.
Painting on wood (interior and exterior)
1. primer
Prime normally absorbent wood and weathered, absorbent old oil or alkyd resin-based coats with priming oil. Thoroughly wipe the surface with a dry cloth after 10 minutes and remove any oil that has not been absorbed. Do not prime non-absorbent old coats.
2nd intermediate coat
with Stand Oil Colour - semi-fat
3. final coat
for silky surfaces
with Stand Oil Colour - semi-fat or final coat for glossy surfaces with Stand Oil Colour - full-fat
Coating structure on metal
