Kreidezeit alcohol (ethyl alcohol, wine spirit) is a fermentation alcohol which is distilled from the fermentation of plant parts containing sugar or starch using a specific yeast additive (analogue to beer/wine production).
The product has numerous areas of application. It can be used to dilute alcohol-dissolved Kreidezeit products (e.g. shellac insulating primer) and can also be used to clean tools that have been soiled with such products. It is also ideal for removing stains and degreasing surfaces. It can also be used to remove mould and to dissolve alcohol-soluble natural resins such as shellac and copal.
For tax reasons, so-called denaturants are added to alcohol for technical applications, which make it undrinkable or cause immediate vomiting if swallowed, as spirits tax is levied on pure alcohol as a stimulant.
